Descrizione del progetto

The project aims at filling a significant gap in the study of museum discourse, namely a thorough analysis from the perspectives of Applied Linguistics and Discourse Analysis. It will investigate best practice in terms of effectively engaging both distant visitors and the local communities through a policy of inclusiveness that also successfully provides economic benefits for museums and their local/neighbouring area. Different kinds of museums will be critically approached as knowledge sites where verbal and visual language are crucial to fostering effective interaction strategies,socio-cognitive alignments and socio-economic benefits .
